He has received many accolades from the media and business for his accomplishments and has also created two World Guinness records as part of the strategy he employed for turning around a business.
He was President (Asia Pacific) for Bristlecone a U.S. based global consulting company which is part of the Mahindra Group focused on maximising the business value of SCM and Procurement for its client’s organisation through business process improvements and I.T software implementations. Amongst his clients with whom he has been personally involved are Unilever, ABB, Mercedes, Sony, Mahindra, Ranbaxy, Piramal (Abbot Lab), B. Braun, Leader Universal, MRT, Rapid KL, TNB, Celcom etc. Earlier, he was the Vice President (SCM) for the billion dollar tractor division of the $15 Billion Mahindra Group, where he set up an integrated SCM organisation by bringing under its umbrella all supply chain functions such as – Demand Management, Inventory planning, Manufacturing Planning, Materials Procurement and Logistics with the responsibility for global fulfillment of customer demand.
At Mahindra, he was the first to implement SAP-APO the advanced SCM solution of SAP world-wide in his industry and his success story was featured on SAP’s website for 3 years. He implemented several innovative first of its kind process improvements which contributed substantially to increasing sales and customer service levels and reduced supply chain costs and working capital. His many accomplishments have been reproduced in two books on SCM. His work also helped the ‘Mahindra Group’ who had already won the “Deming Award”, to win the highest TQM award possible, the “Japan Quality Medal”. His contributions during the TQM journey have been appreciated in writing by Prof. Washio, Japan’s leading TQM Guru .
